Mark is responsible for VisitScotland’s first global brand, the Spirit of Scotland. He leads the Brand Engagement team and has over 13 years’ consumer marketing experience in the Scottish tourism sector. The team has responsibility for developing the brand strategy and the communication of the brand to stakeholders so that ultimately; we all work together progressively to achieve a legacy for Scotland.
Joining VisitScotland in 2004, Mark began with a regional focus developing strategies for local authorities and working with industry groups to promote Scotland’s varied regions. This was followed by marketing Scotland to UK & European consumers as a must visit destination via award winning campaign activity. He is now a senior member of the Global Marketing and Digital function.
Prior to joining the organisation Mark worked at Volkswagen in their National Fleet department developing their events strategy and membership programmes with retail stakeholders, and also for the TUI Group to promote their portfolio of consumer travel brands.
