Biography

Mike Jardine is the old, grumpy half of the Rare Management team. He originally qualified as an architect, then switched to marketing within the ski trade, moved on to Chief Executive of the British Ski and Snowboard Federation for 2 Olympic cycles before tiring of sport politics and starting up Rare Management with Olympic skier Lesley Beck.

Since 1999 Rare Management has been responsible for World Class events in mountain biking, climbing and archery as well as trade shows, consumer events and feasibility studies. The UCI Mountain Bike World Cup has been taking place in Fort William since 2002 (with a World Championships in 2007). It is an award winning event (31 national and international titles and counting) which attracts 23,000 to Fort William over 3 days.
