Alan Parker initially joined Fife Fire and Rescue Service in 1995, where he served at all Operational levels and stations throughout the county. In 2010 he went on to become an Instructor at the former, Scottish National Fire Services Training College Gullane, where he served for 3 years. On return to the newly formed, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS), he was tasked to review and implement standard Incident Command procedures across the Service. In 2015 Alan was seconded to the UK Fire and Rescue Services National Operational Guidance team based in London. He was responsible for the development and publication of Training Specifications aligned to National Occupational Standards, which are now utilised by all UK Fire Services. His current role is Station Manager within the Response and Resilience Directorate of SFRS, with a responsibility for Civil Contingencies; including Business Continuity, National Event Planning, Community Resilience Engagement and he is the Risk Lead for the East of Scotland Regional Resilience Partnership. Alan is also on call as a tactical level Incident Commander.
