The Gleneagles Hotel
There are excellent transport links to/from Gleneagles Hotel for car and rail. We are also delighted to be working with our partners, Event Connect, to offer delegates FREE courtesy coach travel from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee (must be pre-booked).
Delegates should note that the 2019 Solheim Cup is also being hosted at Gleneagles during the same time as the 2019 National Events Conference and there are a range of temporary road closures and additional traffic management measures in place around the site. Please read the travel instructions below prior to travelling to the conference.
FREE COURTESY COACHES
We are delighted to be working in partnership with Event Connect to offer delegates free courtesy coaches from central Aberdeen, Dundee, Glasgow and Edinburgh. This opportunity must be pre-booked and is available on a first-come basis.
Departure Times & Pick-up Points:
- Aberdeen 7am. Departing from College Street (next to car park). Please note, no access via Station front.
- Dundee 8.30am. Departing from Bus lay-by, Riverside Drive. Please note, this is 200 yards from Station Entrance.
- Edinburgh 7.30am. Departing from Jeffery Street. Please note, the coach will pick up from the bus stop outisde Jurys Inn.
- Glasgow 7.45am. Departing from Glasgow City Chambers. Please note, the coach will pick up from the lay-by outside.
- Return journey: All coaches will depart at 17:00 from Gleneagles to their respective locations and drop off in the same location as the pick up location.
How to Book: Courtesy coach travel should be pre-book via the conference website before 5pm on Sunday 8 September. If you are experiencing problems booking your courtesy coach please call Mark Hennys on 0131 472 2022 before 5pm on Friday 6 September for assistance.
Delegates arriving by car will access the Gleneagles Hotel grounds from Church Road and will park in Car Park 2. Delegates are reminded there will be temporary road closures and additional traffic management measures in place around Gleneagles due to Solheim Cup. As a result, please allow extra time for your journey, plus adequate time to get from Car Park 2 to the hotel.
Please read the travel instructions below and plan your journey in advance accordingly:
Travelling on A9 from the South
From the South, exit the A9 at the A824 signposted Auchterarder. Turn first left into Orchil Road. At the second roundabout (junction with A823) take second exit following signs for Car Park 2 on your left. Conference accreditation (confirmation email/code) will be required to enter the hotel grounds.
Travelling on A9 from the North
From the North, exit the A9 at the A823 signposted Gleneagles / Gleneagles station. At the roundabout take the third exit for the A823 Crieff then cross over bridge and return Northbound onto the A9. Exit the A9 at the A824 signposted Auchterarder. Turn first left into Orchil Road. At the second roundabout (junction with A823) take second exit following signs for Car Park 2 on your left. Conference accreditation (confirmation email/code) will be required to enter the hotel grounds.
Conference delegates will park in Car Park 2. On turning into the hotel grounds from Church Road, delegates will be stopped at a car checkpoint and have their accreditation (confirmation email) as a conference delegate confirmed. A member of the conference team will be at the checkpoint from 8.30am – 10.30am to assist if required. Delegates will then be issued with a pass for Car Park 2 and permitted to drive through the hotel grounds, following signs for Car Park 2 and complying with any additional direction from stewards.
There will be a shuttle bus service running from Car Park 2 back to the hotel every 20 minutes starting from 8.30am until 10.30am. A member of the conference team will be in the car park during this period to direct delegates onto the shuttle bus. Delegates arriving out-with this time will need to make their own way to the hotel.
NB: Those wishing to walk from Car Park 2 to the hotel should allow 15 minutes.
There are regular train services from across Scotland stopping at Gleneagles station. A conference shuttle bus will be in operation to take delegates arriving by train from Gleneagles station to the hotel. The shuttle service will run every 20 minutes starting from 8.30am until 10.30am. A member of our conference team will be at Gleneagles station during this time to direct delegates onto the shuttle bus. Delegates arriving out-with this time will need to make their own way to the hotel.
Similarly, a shuttle service will be in operation to take delegates from the Hospitality Pavilion (afternoon conference venue) back to Gleneagles station from 3.30pm and will run every 20 minutes until 6pm.
Delegates wishing to walk from the station to the hotel can do so via the temporary footbridge installed over the A9 for the 2019 Solheim Cup. Delegates will have to pass through a ticket checkpoint and be required to show their conference confirmation email (sent after completing the booking process). Delegates should allow at least 25 minutes to walk from Gleneagles station (via footbridge on Station Rd) to Gleneagles Hotel. Delegates walking back to the station from the Hospitality Pavilion should allow at least 15 minutes.
